WHS Boys Golf Wins District Championship

You can’t have purple and gold without a little gold, and the WHS boys golf team made sure to bring the gold back to campus for the second consecutive year.

The Bulldogs matched their opening round team score of 303 with a duplicate score of 303 in Monday’s final round to finish with a district championship score of 606, 25 shots better than second place. It marks back-to-back titles for Coach Mike Campbell’s Bulldogs.

Individually, Reece Templeton and Jack Cole shot duplicate two-round scores of 149. Templeton won the playoff to claim second place while Cole took third.

Additionally, five Wylie players received all-district accolades: Adrian Belli, Jack Cole, Jack Curington, Casen James and Reece Templeton.

WHS now advances to the Region 1-5A Tournament April 16-17 in Lubbock.
