A group of McMurry University football players wearing jerseys and hoodies pose outside a building with a young child and an adult, both dressed warmly. Some players make hand gestures, and the child smiles while giving a high-five.

Whatโ€™s better than a Friday? A High Five Friday! Students at Wylie West Elementary got a championship-worthy welcome on Jan. 18 as McMurry University football players and Coach Mark Rau lined up to give them high-fives on their way into school.

Among the crowd was kindergartener Robert Wakefield, who didnโ€™t waste a second snagging a quick photo before heading off to Mrs. Harperโ€™s classโ€”because when life gives you a high-five opportunity, you take it!

Younger campuses across Wylie ISD regularly host special guests from different organizations, turning an ordinary morning into an energy-packed, feel-good kickoff to the day. Whether itโ€™s athletes, cheerleaders, or community leaders, these visits remind students that a little encouragement goes a long way.
