Wylie West Junior High 5th-grade students proudly hold their Citizenship Awards on stage.

At Wylie West Junior High, we know that being a Bulldog means more than just school spirit—it means showing kindness, responsibility, and respect every single day. That’s why we’re thrilled to recognize our 5th-grade students who have earned Citizenship Awards for their outstanding character and leadership! 🎉🐾

What is a Citizenship Award?

This award is given to students who go above and beyond to make our school a better place. Whether it's helping a classmate in need, showing respect to teachers, or demonstrating responsibility in the classroom, these students set the gold standard for what it means to be a positive role model.

Why Does Citizenship Matter?

Good grades are important, but great character lasts a lifetime! Teaching citizenship helps students learn:
Leadership Skills – Stepping up to help others and making a difference.
Respect & Kindness – Treating everyone with fairness and compassion.
Responsibility – Owning their actions and making positive choices.

When students practice good citizenship, they build a strong school community and set themselves up for future success—not just in the classroom, but in life!

🐾 Way to go, 5th graders! Keep showing the world what it means to be a true Bulldog! 🏆💜💛
